Get out and have some fun at our 9th Annual Ice Fisheree Festival that includes a Fisheree, Rabbit & Coyote hunts, Broomball Tourney, Snow sculpting, Ice skating, Texas Hold’em and Euchre Tourney being held on Friday, January 2oth and Saturday, January 21st, 2012. Join us for the day for a host of fun for all ages! This year’s events include:
- Candle-lit Ice Skating - Friday Noon until – 10 pm and Saturday 5 pm until 10 pm
- Euchre Tournament – cash prizes Friday night 5 pm – 9 pm
- Texas Hold ‘em Tourney - cash prizes Friday night 6:30 – 11 p.m.
- Ice fishing contest – $200 largest Fish Prize! Open to waters in Dane, Columbia and Jefferson counties.
- Rabbit & Coyote Hunting Tourneys (both Friday & Saturday) – Register your team now!

TRIPLE PLAY CHALLENGE: Goals of the Challenge are:
1. $1000 in cash donations for the Marshall Waterloo Food Pantry (Lions will match dollar for dollar up to $500)
2. 1000 pounds of food collected for the Marshall Waterloo Food Pantry. Items needed are: Peanut Butter, Hamburger Helper,Instant Potatoes,Canned Fruit,Canned Soup,Egg Noodles,Canned Tuna, Juice, Saltine Crackers
3. $1000 in cash donations for the Marshall Family Emergency Fund (Lions will match dollar for dollar up to $500)
All those who donate or bring a non-perishable food item will be entered to win a Jimmy John’s Gift Certificate!
It”s the same great Steak and Lobster Feed but it has been expanded with loads of activities for everyone to become the Maunesha Riverfest. The event is Saturday, August 13th, 2011 at Firemen’s Park in Marshall. Activities run all day long with fun for the whole family. Do not miss this family friendly community event hosted by the Marshall Lions Club.
Activities Include:
- Cash Raffles: $1000 first prize, $2500 in total prizes
- Carp Rodeo: 8 am – 3 pm Kids (0 – 15 yrs) get $1.00 per carp caught and an Adults (16yrs +) Tournament with $5.00 entry and prizes.

Proceeds from this fundraiser helps the Marshall Lions make our community better by reinvesting in projects such a coats for kids (Marshall Schools), eyeglasses and hearing aids for those in need, support of FFA and other student leadership projects, Marshall Youth Club, Movies in the Park, and many other projects. Your support is very much appreciated.
Everyone loves Easter Egg Hunts and Spaghetti! This annual event is coming right up on Palm Sunday, April 17th, 2011 from 11 am to 4 pm at the Marshall American Legion. It combines great spaghetti for the family and friends and an Easter egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny for the little ones (1 – 10 yrs). The day ends with a raffle drawing where $1,250 in cash prizes will be given away! You need not be present to win. Meal tickets will be sold in advance and at the door.
Games of euchre and sheepshead are always at hand in the lower level of the Legion as well. Come join us. It’s more fun when you’re there!
Spaghetti is served from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Adults: $6.50, kids 5-12: $4.50 and kids under 5 are free. Easter Egg Hunt is at 2 pm with separate areas for kids ages 1-3 and 4-10 yrs.

The Marshall Lions Club will be conducting an Eye Screening Session on June 3rd at the Marshall Early Learning Center (ELC). Members from the Cottage Grove Lions Club will also be volunteering to conduct the screens. Marshall Area Children between 4-7 years of age can attend this session.

The Marshall Lions Club held its annual Spaghetti Dinner and Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 5th. Hundreds of patrons joined us at the Marshall Legion Hall to enjoy a plate of warm spaghetti and to support the club. At 2 pm, the Easter Bunny arrived and kicked-off the Easter Egg Hunt. Children had the opportunity to collect hundreds of Easter eggs, and seven lucky winners found “special” eggs which entitled them to win grand prizes. Winners included:
